Watershed Group to Form

"The goal would be to develop a communituy-based watershed management plan and an alliance. Because of the size of the watershed, it could be smaller functional units under a larger umbrella group. The alliance is needed, in part, to provide local input to the federal and state agencies that are preparing to tackle water quality issues associated with the watershed." Mark Doolan, EPA-Kansas City said, "This meeting is about partnership development. We wanted to bring everyone here today so that we hopefully could form a core group." He said that it had been his experience that the most effective cleanups have involved participation by resident's groups.
